  • Beschrijving: Laya Films news report produced during the Spanish Civil War. Divided into two parts, the first shows a parade commemorating the victory of the Czech army against the central powers during a First World War battle. The narrator points out that the parade coincides with the Nazi occupation of Austria (March 1938). In the second part, the narrator reads a speech made by Government of Catalonia President, Lluís Companys, while, on screen, we are shown an image of a stone medallion depicting St. George fighting the dragon: "Who are you? I am a Catalan in an unshakeable and invincible fortress of love for, and defence of my country. I fight against those who invade my homeland. I fight before the world and infinite space, for the name and the existence of Catalonia; I want to earn and be worthy of the peace I hold dear. I would not be able to live without freedom. Long live Catalonia!"
